bohlea@aaps.k12.mi.us
My name is Amanda Bohle. I am the Building Literacy Expert. I graduated from Spring Arbor University with my bachelors and from Northern Michigan University with my Masters in Reading.
My favorite children's book is Charlotte's Web. I love the message of friendship and the power of helping others (and pigs are my favorite animal!). When I'm not teaching, I like hiking, exercising, reading and spending time with my two sons.
Mrs. Murphy
Denise Murphy - Title One Teacher
murphyd@aaps.k12.mi.us
My name is Denise Murphy, and I am Allen's Title One teacher. I graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
My favorite children's book is Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae because Gerald, the giraffe in the book, inspires us all to dance to our own tune. Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my three children and husband. During the summer, I read as many books as I can and spend lots of time outdoors.
Ms. Froning
Chelsea Froning - English Learner Teacher
froningc@aaps.k12.mi.us
Hello! My name is Chelsea Froning, and I just finished up my fourth year at Pittsfield Elementary. I have taught both 4th and 2nd grades, and loved working with such a dynamic group of kiddos and teachers! Prior to my work at Pittsfield, I spent about 4 years working as a preschool teacher leading infant, toddler, and Pre-K classrooms. I also spent time directing an Infant/Toddler Spanish Immersion daycare program, running an arts and literacy-based after-school program in Ecuador, and teaching English in both France and Ghana.
I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Michigan, concentrating in Psychology, International Studies, and Spanish before completing the ELMAC program to receive my elementary teaching certificate. In and outside of school, I love to learn new things, stay active, and work collaboratively. I can't wait for us to learn and grow together!
