Shana Cacioppo

Shana is a graduate of Southgate Anderson High School. She began her college at Henry Ford Community College and then transferred to Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a BS in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology. She then went on to pursue a Master’s in Psychology at the Michigan School of Psychology, where she also earned her Specialist and Doctorate degrees in Psychology. She has been married for nearly 20 years and has 5 children. She and her husband recently bought a farm with an old farm house they are renovating.

Kim Bonenberger - Physical Therapist

My name is Kim Bonenberger. I am the physical therapist on staff at Allen and work with students at all levels in the school system. I went to Juniata College and then to Northwestern for graduate school.
My favorite children's book is "Peter Pan" because it has all the elements of a great story and they have a dog for a Nanny! In my spare time, I like to garden, read, hike, play volleyball and spend time traveling with my family.

Jessica Cifor - Speech Language Pathologist

My name is Jessica Cifor. I am a speech and language pathologist and work on skills including articulation, understanding and expressing language, pragmatic language, and fluency. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
My favorite children's books are those written by Mo Willems, especially Nake Mole Rat Gets Dressed and Edwina, the Dinosaur Who Didn't Know She was Extinct. I like how these stories teach about being happy with who you are and the drawings! In my spare time I love to draw and do crafts, read, and go campling.

My name is Donna Kolokithas. I am a special education teacher at Allen Elementary. I went to school at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. My favorite children’s book is The Mitten by Jan Brett. I love the illustrations! I like to sew, read, go on roller coaster and carousel rides! I look forward to working with you this school year!

My favorite children’s book is Abiyoyo, by Pete Seeger because it’s fun and kind of silly. In my spare time I love to read, climb, and spend time with my two rambunctious sons.

Megan Smulders - Social Worker

My name is Megan Smulders, and I’m eager to grow roots in the Allen community! This will be my third year working as an elementary school social worker with AAPS. I completed my undergraduate studies at Ohio University and my MSW at the University of Michigan. Prior to finding my heart’s content in school social work, I spent time in medical and clinical outpatient settings.
My husband and I live (a short walk from Allen) with our 3 children, who are 7th graders at Tappan Middle School. We enjoy soaking up all the richness Ann Arbor offers in our free time. I’m honored, eager, and grateful to be joining the Allen Eagles!

Elizabeth Krieger - Teacher Consultant

My name is Elizabeth Krieger. I began teaching at Allen in 2022, and I am one of the Special Education Resource Program teachers here. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Michigan, and I received my master's degree in special education from Western Governors University.
One of my favorite (series of) books is Frog and Toad. They remain great friends even through the various challenges of friendship, and the stories are fun and silly! In my spare time I like to bake, read, hike, and explore nature.
